Mark your calendars, plant nerds! The 15th annual Plant Nerd Night will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at Lake Bible Church, 4565 S.W. Carman Drive, Lake Oswego. All are welcome; admission is free. The event is presented by KXL 101 FM Radio and Mike Darcy, host of the In the Garden radio show, which airs 9 a.m.–noon Saturday mornings on KXL.
Plant Nerd Night has become legendary among members of Oregon’s gardening community. It’s an opportunity to get together, have fun, and learn a lot about plants from expert presenters representing six local specialty nurseries. At 6 p.m., the doors are open and plants are available for sale. At 7 p.m., the presentations begin. Each presenter has 12 minutes to show their favorite plants as well as talk about selections that are new to the market. After presentations are over, plants are once again available for purchase.
Those attending have the chance to win door prizes provided by the presenters and other garden-oriented businesses. The event is also a chance to pick up your copy of the brand-new, 2016 edition of the Retail Nurseries and Garden Centers Guide, published by the Oregon Association of Nurseries and Plant Something Oregon.
