Spring Fever Open House – Cascade Nursery Trail

Three day extravaganza of garden touring, plant sales and special events at our annual open house, perfectly timed for peak garden photo ops! Feel the fever of plant lust and the thrill of finding those alluring beauties as you fill your wagon at each stop…pausing for munchies or libation and some sage gardening advice from your nursery hosts before heading to your next trail destination. Come out for a day in the country, meet the owners and find plants you may not see anywhere else. All CNT Nurseries will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Irrigation System Tips for Homeowners at Clackamas Community College

Clackamas Community College is offering a new workshop for you to learn tips that every homeowner should know about their irrigation system.   Be in the know! This workshop will cover how to know your water usage and why it’s important, information about backflow testing requirements, understanding and programming a basic irrigation controller, sprinkler head adjustment basics, common maintenance and troubleshooting issues and system winterization needs.

Ikebana demonstration scheduled at Portland Japanese Garden

Lovers of the Japanese art form of Ikebana can learn more about it at an Ikebana demonstration hosted by The Portland Japanese Garden. Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, has been translated as “living flowers” or “giving life to flowers.” The demonstration will be presented by Nana Bellerud from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana from 1:15-2:15 p.m. October 15 at the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning center at the garden. The demonstration is free with the price of garden admission.
