Home gardeners of all skill levels are invited to register for the 19th annual Coos County Master Gardeners and Oregon State University Extension Service garden seminar. Fertilize Your Mind: The “Dirt” on Backyard Gardening, is an all-day event taking place from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 4, at the Mill Casino & Hotel, 3201 Tremont Ave, North Bend, Oregon.
Faculty lecturers, master gardeners, business owners and other experts will share their knowledge in a series of practical, hands-on classes. The sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including organic farming, food preservation, pests and disease, journaling, Rhododendrons, pollinators, and more. James Cassidy, Oregon State University soil scientist, will deliver a keynote address about soil. Vendors will also be on-site to share information and education materials during the event.
Complete the paper registration form to indicate your top three choices of the nine available sessions. Space is limited and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost is $40. Registration includes the keynote address, three seminars, and lunch. Attendees registered before March 27 will receive a confirmation postcard that is required for admittance to classes.
