10-Minute University wraps up with 2 May classes

Join Clackamas County Master Gardeners for the last of the spring sessions of 10-Minute University, a series of short online classes that will expand your gardening knowledge.
All seminars are free but require advance registration, and all sessions count for a one-hour metro area Master Gardener continuing garden education credit.
The series runs every Wednesday through May 14, from noon−1 p.m. If you can’t attend live, register anyway and receive a recording of the seminar afterwards to watch at your convenience.
Debunking Gardening Myths, noon–1 p.m. May 7. Gardeners are generous with their advice. That is a good thing, but some of the advice may contain myths that are contrary to scientific evidence. This session will debunk some of the more popular gardening myths and explain why they don’t work. Is a layer of gravel in the bottom of a container good for drainage? Do coffee grounds turn the soil acidic? Does Epsom salt prevent blossom end rot on tomatoes? These questions and dozens more will be answered, revealing the science to debunk the myths. Register
Boost Biodiversity in Your Garden with an Insect-Friendly Habitat, noon–1 p.m. May 14. News of diminishing insect populations may make you feel hopeless about the future.
