Besides your amazing plants, what other treasures do you offer?

We offer seating throughout the farm and a complimentary shuttle provides transportation to designated locations. From vibrant photo opportunities to family-friendly activities, food, and shopping…the tulip festival offers something for everyone.

Enjoy a glass of one of our estate grown wines or a glass of local beer and cider from our tasting room. Take home a bouquet of fresh cut tulips or potted tulips to remember your visit. If the weather is just right, you might see a hot air balloon – or two – or three!

How has your nursery evolved and grown over the years?

As a family farm, we hit a milestone of 75 years this year. In 1950, Ross and Dorothy Iverson got married and a month later signed the papers for a 225-acre farm near Monitor, Oregon that we still farm today.

Our farm currently has only a few of the landmark buildings it began with including the original home we all grew up in. We still have beautiful soil and many of the same trees. We have grown over 100 different crops from pole beans, sweet corn, garlic, rhododendrons, tulips and more.

In 1974, we planted the first tulips on the farm and began a journey we didn’t know existed. From dry bulb sales to cut flowers, we marketed our tulips to the best of our ability, but it wasn’t until we opened our fields to the public that we realized the opportunities awaiting our family farm.

This isn’t just a crop; it’s an opportunity to share the beauty of our farm with others.

What’s the most common question your customers ask?

“When is the best time of the season to visit the tulip festival?”

Tulips are very sensitive to weather and come up when the ground has defrosted. Some come up early at the end of March while others wait until later in April when the ground is warmer. Generally speaking, mid-April typically has the best overlap of color between the early, mid and late blooming tulips.
