Sogetsu Portland Fall Show highlights Japanese floral designs

Local artists from the Sogetsu Portland Branch will create a wide range of styles of Ikebana from basic to abstract for the Sogetsu Portland Fall Show at the Portland Japanese Garden Saturday and Sunday, November 2–3. Admission to the show is included with price of admission to the garden and the show runs 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m. in the Yanai Classroom at the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center.

The Sogetsu School of Ikebana believes ikebana can be practiced anytime, anywhere, by anyone. The three main elements designers use are line, mass, and color, with an emphasis on the designer’s individual artistic expression and creativity. See how their arrangements both suit and enhance the Yanai Classroom in the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center.
