Don’t miss Clackamas County Master Gardeners’ 10-Minute University webinars scheduled for February which focus on early season veggies and growing roses. The sessions are free but require advanced registration.

 February 18, noon–1 p.m.,  Growing Early-Season Vegetables*

Increase your garden’s yield by planting early-season vegetables before warm weather crops like peppers, tomatoes and squash are ready for planting.

This class introduces you to vegetables that grow well in early spring when temperatures are cooler. Instructors will cover soil preparation, planting techniques and seed selection. The main focus will be on adaptations to manage cool air and soil temperatures, garden pests, and potential weather events such as extended rainy periods and early warm spells.

February 25, noon–1 p.m.,  Growing Roses in the Pacific Northwest*

Master using lovely, fragrant roses in your garden. This webinar will cover different types of roses and how to choose the best ones for your garden. This session will also discuss location, soil preparation, planting, and provide tips for fertilizing, watering, pruning, and pest control.
