Spring is the best time to enjoy the preserved Salem gardens of Lord & Schryver: Gaiety Hollow and Deepwood Estate.

Open Garden at Gaiety Hollow, 545 Mission St. S.E. in Salem, Oregon, is now open Wednesdays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

The Deepwood Garden, 849 12^th St. S.E., is open daily from sunrise to sunset, however a docent will be there to answer questions on Thursdays from noon–4 p.m.

To learn more about the rich history and garden design principles of Lord & Schryver, a private tour of Gaiety Hollow with a trained docent is available. Groups of up to 20 people can be accommodated and tours run now through October. Guests start with an indoor slide presentation about Lord & Schryver and then go outside for the garden tour.
