Cultural Performance: Koto by Mitsuki Dazai, 1:15–2:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 11. Enjoy a free koto performance by Mitsuki Dazai in the Cathy Rudd Cultural Corner in the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center. Dazai is a graduate of Tokyo’s Kunitachi College of Music, studied koto with virtuoso Kazue Sawai, and received her koto instruction certificate at Sawai Koto Institute. She moved to Oregon in 2002 and has served as a guest lecturer, and toured throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, and Japan. Free with admission to garden.

Portland Japanese Garden is located in Washington Park at 611 S.W. Kingston Ave. and is open 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Wednesdays–Mondays. Last entry is at 5:30 p.m. and guests must leave by 6:30 p.m. Admission is $22.50, $19.50 for seniors 65 and over, $16.50 for youths age 6–17. Children under 5 are free.
