Cultural Demonstration: Ikebana, 1:15–2:15 p.m. Sunday, June 8. JapJoin Nana Bellerud from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center in a demonstration of creating Ikebana, translated as “living flowers” or “giving life to flowers.” Free with admission to garden.

Portland Japanese Garden is located in Washington Park at 611 S.W. Kingston Ave. and is open 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Wednesdays–Mondays. Last entry is at 5:30 p.m. and guests must leave by 6:30 p.m. Admission is $22.50, $19.50 for seniors 65 and over, $16.50 for youths age 6–17. Children under 5 are free.
