World Forestry Center has summer programs for entire family

Spend the summer connecting you and your family to forests by attending one of the many Discovery Museum programs at the World Forestry Center in Portland, Oregon.

  • Children and families of all ages can gather in the Discovery Museum’s reading nook for story time and listen to tales about our forests. Coloring pages and other additional activities will be provided, 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays on July 17, August 7, and August 21.
  • Join RAD Creative for a hands-on arts and forest crafts adventure with a different forest-centric craft each month. Work on the craft as a family and take a little piece of the forest back home with you, 1 p.m. Saturdays, July 20, and August 17.
  • Join Oregon’s forest education program, Talk About Trees, and learn about the complex world of forests with your pre-school through 8th grade children. This interactive science-based program offers hands-on learning to increase students’ knowledge and awareness of forestry-related issues, 2 p.m. Sundays, July 28,  and August 25.
