DESCRIPTION:Join Ag Fest for a fun and festive educational experience for the entire family April 25–26 at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem\, Oregon. \nLast year\, over 23\,000 people attended Ag Fest to touch\, taste and experience the incredible world of Oregon agriculture\, in a fun-filled\, festive environment. The two-day event\, aimed to help families better understand where their food\, fiber\, and flora come from\, is a unique learning experience where hands-on exhibits make learning about Oregon’s vast agricultural industry educational and entertaining. \nAg Fest strives to bridge the gap between urban and rural life\, and to share the wonder and abundance of Oregon’s bountiful and diverse harvest. \nMost importantly\, this is accomplished in a family friendly way\, where kids 15 and under receive free admission\, and virtually all activities at the event are free of charge. Thanks to Ag Fest sponsors\, kids ride ponies\, plant seedlings\, watch sheep get sheared\, pet farm animals and much\, much more! \nMake sure to stop by the Plant Something Oregon booth in “Ag Country” in the Columbia Hall\, where each person in your family can pick a seedling and plant it in a pot to take home with you. \nTickets are $15 for those ages 16 and older\, free for children 15 and younger. \nHours are 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday\, April 25 and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday\, April 26.

DESCRIPTION:East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District is excited to partner with North Tabor Neighborhood Association to present a Creating an Edible Landscape workshop! \nThis workshop will give you insight and tools for incorporating edible plants into your landscape. From annual veggies and herbs to perennial berries and fruit trees\, we’ll discuss design tips\, ways to build fertile soil\, and how to conserve water while producing a harvest. You will also learn about native plants that feature edible fruit and nuts\, and how to invite beneficial insects to your garden. You’ll walk away ready to assess your site and make a plan for a beautiful (and delicious) landscape! \nLanguage: The workshop will be delivered in English. \nCost: Free \nRegistration closes when the event is sold out or 24 hours before the workshop begins. \nAccessibility Notes: \nInteraction level: Low.
