Organizers say there is a direct tie to gardening. “Every tomato\, berry\, and grain on our plates has a wild ancestor\, and while much of that rich genetic diversity is at risk\, the exhibit will help you discover how you can help keep them thriving\,” they stated in an announcement. \nFull information is available at Lakewood-Center.org/LOFA2026/. \nThe event will include opportunities to: \n\nMeet the artists and hear what inspires their choice of heirloom and wild plant subjects.\nWatch live demonstrations as they bring plants to life on the page.\nLearn how botanical art preserves cultural memory and biodiversity.\nDiscover stories spanning ancient First Nations foraging traditions to heritage crops passed down through generations. Plus\, there will be a James Beard native chef on site.\nFind out how you can help protect the flavors\, colors\, and cultures that make our world delicious and alive.\n\nThis exhibit is curated by the Oregon Botanical Artists (OBA) and will include artisans from both OBA and the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists (PNBA). \nLeach Botanical Garden\, Portland Botanical Garden\, Portland Japanese Garden\, the Association of Northwest Landscape Designers (ANLD)\, and the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon (HPSO) will be there\, along with an on-site plant sale. \n \nAbout the festival: This event is hosted at the Lakewood Center and George Rogers Park in downtown Lake Oswego\, Oregon. The festival features six unique art exhibits\, including more than 600 local\, national\, and international artists. Visitors can experience live music on two stages\, performances\, kids’ activities\, artist demos\, and a variety of food. It’s free to the public (donations encouraged) and attracts nearly 30\,000 guests each year. \nAbout the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts: Lakewood Center for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts institution dedicated to providing arts education\, performance and exhibition opportunities to the region.
